Algorithms
There are several algorithms that can be used within the ATRI profiles.
Round Robin
This sets an order that the gateways will be attempted against. Use the Queue column to determine the order that the gateways will be attempted against. After a sale or decline on a gateway, the next transaction will go to the next gateway in queue.
Priority Queue
This sets an order that the gateways will be attempted against. Use the Queue column to determine the order that the gateways will be attempted against. This algorithm will follow the queue but will not proceed to the next gateway until the current gateway has reached it’s limits or monthly cap.
Weighted
This allows you to set a specific percentage of sales to reach the gateway, depending on the interval selected. The weight must equal 100%. You can use the “Distribute Weight” button to evenly distribute the weight across all enabled gateways within the profile.
Distribute Weight Equally - Set all active Gateways to equal weight percentage
Distribute Weight Proportionally - This distributes weight proportionally using calculated availability and requires month cap to be set on each gateway to be included.
Intelligent
This uses a Star system to rank the gateways. 3 stars is the highest preference and 1 star is the lowest preference.
All 3 star gateways will be used first, until all those gateways reach their limit or monthly cap. Then the 2 star gateways will be used until they reach their limit or monthly cap. Then finally the 1 star gateways will be used.
By default the intelligent algorithm takes rebills, cancellations, and refunds into account when determining which gateways can still receive sales.
The Intelligent Algorithm also provides an additional configuration option called Intelligent Bin Routing. Enabling this setting will make ATRI look at the processing history for the acquirer bin and the MCCs of the gateways to see which gateway would be best to process the transaction against.
To use these settings you must add the MCC and Acquirer Bins to your gateway profiles inside the CRM. Be sure these are accurate!
Then to enable the settings in the profile you will use the dropdown options to either choose to compare the processing history for your own account, or against the global data.
Once an option is selected you set the profile to skip any gateways lower than a specific approval rate and you can also set the profile to prefer any gateways over a separate specific approval rate.
